Kakadu Plum
The benefits of this Australian Native for our skin are extraordinary - healing, rejuvenating and collagen producing.
Our key Faktree ingredient, Kakadu Plum contains one of the world's highest levels of vitamine C. In fact, it has as much as 10 times more Vitamin C when compared with other fruits. Vitamin C is good for skin as it benefits the skin by producing collagen.
Kakadu Plum has high levels of folates and recently investigators have found the equally remarkable content of polyphenolic antioxidants. It has traditionally been used by the Australian Aboriginese as an antiseptic and a soothing balm for aching limbs and feet.

Desert Lime
Also know as the native cumquat this 'wild lime' which gains its soothing, re-balancing and revitalising properties from the high level of antioxidants it contains.
Australian Desert Limes are from a tree species of true citrus which is native to Australia - eremocitrus glauca.
The botanical name of this species is derived from eremos, the Greek word for 'desert' and glauca, meaning 'bluish', referring to the blue-grey colour of the leaves. They were eaten by aborigines and have been used by generations of Australian outback people to make cordias and garnishes. Thirsty stockmen ate the fruit straight from the trees as a thirst quencher.

Quandong
An amazingly versatile fruit the Quandong or Native Peach. Aboriginal name: Goorti (Narungga)
Amongst Australian aborigines Quandongs were valued for their medicinal properties, including a form of tea which was drunk as a purgative. They were also used in the treatment of rheumatism and a topical ointment for skin sores. Some tribal groups were known to use the Quandong as a form of 'hair conditioning oil'. This practise is now gaining much accreditation from hair care manufacturers now creating a shortages of this ingredient.
The high antioxidant and Vitamin C levels contained in the Quandong are extremelly suitable for body and hair care products to be used in the Australian environment.

Lemon Scented Tea Tree
Tea tree oil is world renowned for its antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties and is widely formulated into many cosmetic and personal care products. Tea Tree oil, in particular the Australian Lemon scented variety has recently demonstrated efficacy in the control of Golden Staph (Staphylococcus aureus).
Indigenous Australians have used tea trees as a traditional medicine including inhaling the oil to treat coughs and colds, applying the leaves on wounds as a poultices as well as for wounds and insect bites.
Captain James Cook named the tea tree because he observed the Bundjalung people use the leaves to prepare a healing tea and it is reported that his men used the leaves first to make a tea and then to brew a type of beer.
